Rock ‘n’ Roll Circus is Japanese pop singer Ayumi Hamasaki’s eleventh studio album, released by Avex Trax on April 14, 2010.[1] It was released on the same day as Hamasaki’s Ayumi Hamasaki Arena Tour 2009 A: Next Level.

The album was released in three different formats, a CD only version, a CD and DVD version, and a box set which contains the normal CD and DVD, a 3-DVD set of Ayumi Hamasaki Arena Tour 2009 A: Next Level, a mug, red tea packets, and a photobook.[2]

09年的第十张原创专辑《NEXT LEVEL》里面，为符合主题，她继续做着大胆的尝试。只是结果显得杂乱，电子舞曲充斥，虽然都是Ayu未曾才尝试的曲风和造型，但是明显“新”意不足。只有一首单曲中的Sparkle差强人意。新专辑中，Ayu的“转型”在这个全球都向LADY GAGA致敬的时代，也显得有些跟风。专辑从一开始就定下了强烈的Rock’n’Roll基调，就像专辑的名字一样——摇滚马戏团。

《INTRODUCTION》一首恢宏的交响乐序曲之后就是专辑最早曝光的《Microphone》，管风琴前奏加上震撼旋律，开篇已经气场十足；《count down》虽然前奏的刺耳声音持续时间太久被歌迷抱怨，可能这是Ayu的真实想法，长期处于失聪状态的左耳带来的打击也需要时间来平复；《Sunset ~LOVE is ALL~》是在之前的2A单曲里面就大受欢迎的抒情曲，作为去年的夏日单曲，总会给人好心情，但是毕竟元气曲安排在专辑的前半部份就会显得不和主题，慢歌夹在摇滚歌曲之中，舒缓一下疲劳的耳膜；《BALLAD》也如其名，悠扬的旋律慢慢放松了专辑一开始的紧张感觉。

在《Last Link》的编曲中出现了Ayu专辑里面少见的木吉他元素，《Don’t look back》如果不是精彩的MV加分就很容易被埋没在精彩的专辑中，模仿《vogue》的短主歌重复副歌模式没有讨好道歌迷的耳朵，而MV中最后的惊艳和歌词中反复的Don’t look back，都让人觉得这首歌对于ayu来说一定有非凡的意义，曲风也是很异域风格，这都使之成为专辑主打的原创歌曲；《Lady Dynamite》作为另一首主打，摇滚味道更加浓烈，就像它的名字，而这首歌旋律和唱腔也都很像B’z的作品。

上周甫推出全新原创专辑「Rock’n'Roll Circus摇滚马戏团」的滨崎步，首周以20.5万张的销售成绩空降最新一期的公信榜冠军，不但创下了个人出道以来共有10张原创专辑夺冠的佳绩，更成为日本乐坛史上第5位达成此纪录的歌手。滨崎步在得知此消息后开心地表示：「能和多位伟大的前辈歌手并列此纪录，感到既惊讶又光荣。这些都全托长久以来一直支持我的歌迷和工作人员的福，真的是非常感谢大家。今后也会尽全力将歌声传达给更多人听到，我想要继续歌唱下去。」

Japan’s powerhouse domestic label Avex Group Holdings announced the line-up for the ninth edition of its touring festival, a-nation.

The festival once again features a mix of Avex’s top acts and up-and-coming artists. In 2010 the event casts a wide net in Japan with stops in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Ehime prefecture.

Leading the way is the perennial chart-topper Ayumi Hamasaki, who has been Avex’s premier act since 1999. Her single “Days/Green” came in at No. 24 on the Billboard Japan Hot Singles Sales year-end 2009 chart.

Avex’s other long-time artist Kumi Koda is scheduled for four of the six shows of the touring festival. Koda’s recent album, “Driving Hits 2,” debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard Japan Top Albums on April 12.

Fast-rising stars on the bill include Iconiq, who recorded previously as Ayumi Lee in the Korean girl group Sugar, and released her first single under the present moniker on Dec. 9, 2009. On March 22, Iconiq’s single “Bye Now” reached No. 8 on the Billboard Japan Hot 100 chart.

Other artists will include Ai Otsuka, Girl Next Door, TRF and Do as Infinity. The festival will hit Ehime’s Ninjinia Stadium on Aug. 7, Nagoya’s Port Messe Outdoor Arena on Aug.14, Osaka’s Nagai Stadium on Aug. 21 and 22 and Tokyo’s Ajinomoto Stadium on Aug. 28 and 29.
